Why we are changing this
When an administrator creates a new version of a learning resource, the system has to copy all the files of the original version to the new one. The same thing happens when you duplicate a learning resource.
In case the SCORM package contains a large number of files or when the size of the package is very large, this could lead to a time-out in the back office.
What will change
To avoid this, the creation of versions and duplicates will now be executed via a background task, to ensure that larger packages get also duplicated correctly.
When the administrator requests the creation of a new version or duplicates a learning resource, the following message will appear on the learning resource page:

The administrator will receive an email notification when the operation is finished. This typically only takes a couple of minutes.
This prevents the time-outs and improves the overall reliability.
Availability
This feature will be available on all platforms on March 26, 2026.
