What we want to improve
Course designers use Classroom activities to allow learners to enroll in face-to-face or virtual events. Today, when a learner accesses a virtual event, they are automatically registered as “present” as soon as they click the event link, even if they leave early.
This can be challenging for events requiring full participation (for example, for compliance or certification reasons).
What will change
We are adding an additional back office option so that the course designer can choose between:
- Automatic Attendance (default): learners are marked present as soon as they join via the virtual classroom link in the event.
- Manual attendance: facilitators or administrators manually confirm who attended.
These options provide greater flexibility and ensure attendance tracking that is perfectly aligned with pedagogical or regulatory requirements.
Action required?
Existing virtual events will not be impacted by this change, so no action is required. If you wish to benefit from this new feature, you can update the tracking option for upcoming events.
