How does the skills taxonomy work?
Capabl Grow uses a global, unified skills ontology of more than 10,000 skills. Every piece of content in your instance is automatically scanned and mapped to this taxonomy — each item receiving a relevance score from -1 to 1. No manual tagging required.
Can we control which learners have access to Capabl Grow?
Yes. Organizations can configure exactly which learner populations have access to the My Skills page and the recommendation widget. Content that’s not approved for a given population will never surface in their recommendations.
What happens when new content is added to the catalog?
New content is automatically scanned and mapped to the skills taxonomy. Recommendations update in real time without any manual intervention — meaning your learners always see the most relevant, up-to-date content for their selected skills.
How many skills can a learner select?
Learners can select between 3 and 5 skills. This keeps them focused without feeling overwhelmed. A default list of 10 popular skills is shown to help learners get started. They can update their skill selection at any time.
Does Capabl Grow work with our existing content catalog?
Yes. Capabl Grow works with all publishers available within your CrossKnowledge Capabl instance. The auto-tagging engine maps your entire existing catalog — including content that may not surface in recommendations — against the skills taxonomy automatically.
